Waiting it out

Writing from the 21 day (+/- 14 day) mark today. I'm finding the most therapeutic hobby for myself right now involves the sewing machine!!!! Completely forgotten is my knitting in lieu of some existing WIPs hanging out in the sewing room. It started with a nursing cover, followed by a mei tei baby carrier, and then a sling baby carrier. Those were of course baby essentials, and I was not expecting to make anything after that, but I found myself drawn back to the table, cleaned it up, and pulled out some old projects, namely a lovely, and so simple to make, Asian motif table runner for the dining room table (I bought the kit for it at QuiltFest 2009), and finally picking up and working on my Christmas Quilt Sampler from 2009.

Turning the corner in exhaustion

Depending on the source, I am either at the beginning of my 2nd trimester or just about to enter it. Needless to say, I've begun to turn the corner on the most pesky of symptoms, my exhaustion. I am getting extra spurts of energy and able to stay awake throughout the entire day now without needing a nap. (I still dozed off on the bus this morning, but that was a side effect of the heat and reading)

I think it will be nice to once again be able to contribute more around the house and have energy to pick up some crafting. It's possible, however, that my long days at the office may still cause some exhaustion, but we'll just play it by ear.

Here's to the second wind!
